Individual
Membership
Our individual
members are people who work or have worked in the ocean and marinespace
economy, that still value the association with the small and medium enterprises
and corporations that work in this group of sectors, who value the responsible
use and development of the ocean and marine resource.
This is for
people who:
Are compliant
with all local, government and professional requirements and laws;
Are studying in
these sectors and publish research papers or are full time students;
Are the key
contacts for their organization or are in a public leadership position;
Sole owner,
home office consultants, agents or representatives designated by another
organization for a region;
Want to be
recognized as an industry leader;
Want to earn
more business contacts and prospects for sales opportunities;
Want to give
something back after serving private or public interests after retirement;
Want to
increase their professional stock value and market recognition;
Want to keep
their finger on the pulse of activities in this sector and show that they are
informed.
Small and Medium
Enterprise Membership
Our small and
medium enterprise members exist in both the public and private sector, consist
of one or two key contacts that are related to sales or quality information on
products or services, have less than 25 employees and spend more than 80% of
their time working in and around the ocean and marinespace and value its
responsible use and development.
This is for
Businesses, Government Branches or Divisions or non-government organizations
with less than 25 employees who:
Are compliant
with all local, government and professional requirements and laws;
Are selling
products and services into the global market;
Are working in
the market and hope to grow their small business into a medium sized business;
Need to
communicate and deliver information to all public audiences and specific
industrial sectors;
Want to build
new relationships outside their own industrial category in order to explore new
opportunities;
Want to
demonstrate to clients, purchasers, their peers and the public that they strive
for a clean, safe and secure ocean and marinespace economy.
Want to support
a collaborative organization that seeks to continuously improve the conditions
for the Ocean and marinespace economy including the retention and expansion of
existing business and the recruitment of new business;
Who regulate or
conversely comply with regulations in any number of ocean and marine related
occupations or industrial activities.
Corporate
Membership
Our Corporate
Members, are much the same as our small and medium enterprise members, with the
exception that they maintain more than 25 employees, are from large
corporations with more than one premise, that may be regional or global in
scope, and may include local governments, senior governments, tribal
governments and of course, private sector interests, who value the responsible
use and development of the ocean and marinespace.
This is for
Businesses, Government Branches or Divisions or non-government organizations
with more than 25 employees who seek the same things that small and medium
enterprise do.
Partners and
Fellow Benefits
Clearly, to
operate in any one of the five types of industry, everyone is required to
demonstrate to their constituents, customers, clients and the public at large,
how they:
Contribute to
society, through responsible use of their “Social License”, something that is
earned, not granted;
Give back from
the returns on investment, not only to shareholders who invest in them, or
taxpayers who elect them or pay rates, but also to the communities in which
they operate in recognition of what the community givers up in other lost
opportunities, workforce, and futures;
Use and develop
the environment is a responsible way;
Achieve tangible
results from the investment of taxpayer dollars; and;
Collaborate
between other Societies and organizations to amplify the achievement of goals
to which people commit themselves.
It is expected
that people and organizations who contribute at these levels have strong
beliefs and affinity with the scope of OCEAN Industries BC and the
