The purpose of the board, on behalf of the people who value the establishment and growth of ocean and marinespace organizations and businesses in CANADA BRITISH COLUMBIA, is to see to it that Ocean Industries BC (a) achieves appropriate results for appropriate persons at an appropriate cost, and (b) avoids unacceptable actions and situations.

Communicate the values associated with ocean and marinespace organizations triple bottom line for sustainable coastal livelihoods;
- Retain existing ocean and marinespace organizations by fostering a favorable business environment and creating awareness of ocean and marinespace interests responding to community and business needs and fostering a favorable business environment;
- Drive growth by expanding local, regional and provincial commerce relationships by helping ocean and marinespace organizations to access growth drivers of markets, capital, knowledge and markets, to realize growth; and to;
- Recruit new ocean and marinespace organizations by encouraging external interests and businesses to invest or relocate to Canada and British Columbia.
