OCEAN Industries BC works for people who promote a clean, safe and secure, ocean economy through responsible development practices.

Products are defined as tangible objects produced specifically by OCEAN Industries BC staff and consultants under the direction of OIBC.
Services are defined as actions which result in an attributable outcome of the efforts of OCEAN Industries BC staff and consultants under the direction or license of OCEAN Industries BC.
The Board of Directors is a “results Governance” Board that have set the follow End Statements for the organization that are closely monitored and reported on a regular basis:

In order to ensure responsible development of the Ocean and Marinespace, we must achieve:

  • An efficient and effective environmental approval process for ocean and marine development activities
  • An intelligent, balanced and proactive development framework in British Columbia and Canada.

Entrepreneurial Culture
Ocean and Marinespace Entrepreneurial Culture exists when:

  • British Columbia and Canada takes full advantage of all ocean and marine opportunities for a prosperous future for British Columbians as has been achieved in Norway;
  • British Columbia coastal culture includes knowledge transfer in all activities.

OCEAN Industries BC builds strong relationships and affinities that results in:

  • Synergy among business and investors;
  • One organization speaking for all sectors of the ocean and marine industry;
  • Productive relationships between environmental non-government organizations [ENGO] and industry;

  • Balanced public perception of environmental group issues;
  • Public confidence and cultural paradigm shift in Ocean and Marine Industry;

  • British Columbian and Canadian children, youth and young adults grow up understanding opportunities in ocean and marine Industries;
  • Marine and Ocean education is fundamental to British Columbia’s basic educational curriculum at all levels;
  • Marine and Ocean occupational training is accessible to all residents in all coastal communities;
  • Maintaining all Mariners on the Coast and address what mariners on the coast means in terms of workforce needs and capacity;
  • All the Communities on the Coast or adjacent to the Coast turn into places with longer term sustainable jobs.

  • British Columbia’s Ocean and Marine Industry is recognized as clean, safe and secure;
  • British Columbia Scientists have strong international linkages and recognized as the highest global standards;
  • British Columbia and Canada maintains a new Ocean tech Park and Ocean and Marinespace Engineering Centre or Maritime University;
  • The maintenance of a world class Naval Architects and Marine Engineering  cluster;
  • British Columbia has a complete Ocean & Marine Engineering Design Training Institute like Norway’s and Australia’s;
  • British Columbian Industries are recognized and competitive  in the global economy;
  • British Columbia, individuals, small and medium enterprises, corporations, both public and private are in a state of export readiness and recognize the importance of the role of trade.
