Capt. T.A. (Tom) Wood is founder and president of Penanderwood Enterprises Inc. a BC Company that operates a Marine Consultancy under the trading name of Wood Marine. Tom has enjoyed a successful sea-going career, notably with major tanker owners BP Shipping Limited and Teekay Shipping Limited. Tom is a member of the Royal Institute of Navigation is also a member of, and currently a director of, the BC Branch of the Nautical Institute. Whilst serving with BP Shipping, Tom was seconded to BP International as, BP Projects Group’s, Marine Adviser, serving Major Offshore Oilfield Construction Projects in UAE waters. Since leaving the sea in 1998, a sea-going career that spanned 34 years, Tom worked in the field of Marine Operations as one of Teekay Shipping’s Fleet General Managers, before branching into Independent Marine Consulting in 2002.
